(FIS)

Working with families where the Department of Child Safety are having ongoing involvement.

Supporting Families

All referrals must come from the Department of Child Safety. This includes:

  • Families whose child continues to reside at home and who require support to build their capacity to provide a safe and stable home environment
  • Families whose child may be residing out of home, but the case plan goal is reunification
  • Families who provide consent and have identified that they are committed to working with the service.

Family Intervention Service caseworkers provide support with:

  • Parenting skills and development

  • Practical in-home support

  • Developing routines

  • Managing a household

  • Budgeting

  • Helping the family engage with other services as specified in the Child Safety Case Plan

  • Education Support

  • Support to attend appointments/meetings in line with the Child Safety Case Plan to support the children’s safe and successful reunification back into the family home.
