Our History

Established in 1975, the Centre officially opened as the Community Advice and Information Centre. The Johnstone Shire Council offered the use of rooms in the Innisfail School of Arts building, where we were situated until December 2008.

The Centre was initially staffed by voluntary Information Officers. The Centre became an Incorporated Association in 1983; and in 1997 the Centre changed its name from Community Advice and Information Centre to Community Support Centre Innisfail Inc.

At the end of 2008 the Centre moved to an all new location in the Innisfail Multi Service Hub at 13-17 Donald Street. In 2021 we began leasing additional office spaces at 7/35 Palmerston Drive.

As an Incorporated Association, the Centre is governed by a highly competent and experienced volunteer Management Committee which is voted in at an Annual General Meeting in September. You can find all our AGM reports here.

Our Services

Community Support Centre Innisfail is a registered charity, we are NDIS registered and hold certification in accordance with the Human Services Quality Standards.

Some of our Services receive funding from the Queensland State Government and this enables them to be provided free of charge to the community. Some of our services, such as Room Hire are fee-for-service which enable the Centre to develop and deliver additional activities and supports in our community.

Your support, through donation or bequest, will help us continue to enhance the wellbeing of individuals, families, and communities.

Donations over $2.00 are tax deductable and can be made at the Centre during office hours and online (click here). Thank you for supporting Community Support Centre Innisfail.
